A Bitter Cold January

So it looks as though I am averaging about one post a month which is really depressing and I want to post more often, there are just not enough hours in the day. So this month has not been the most eventful month other then I started back to school. We have hit the ground running here in the class of 2013. It has been busy which is stressful but it does make the weeks fly by. For instance, I cannot believe I have already been back for a month already. If this keeps up I am going to look back and be a senior ready to take my boards.

Outside of class, my good friends Jessica and Stella have taken up a yoga class every Thursday. It really is fabulous!! We thoroughly enjoy the relaxing but strenuous hour and a half workout we get every week. Let me tell you that it really is a tough workout. I have been working out every day for the last month but nothing has made me as sore as that yoga class. You feel the burn and I am shaking like crazy...yes I am weak. Here is one of the poses we did last week:
The Eagle Pose

Troy and I both have also started our intramural basketball season!! I put together a team of a few of my classmates who were willing to run themselves ragged once a week. We are not very good but we have a good time. Our first game last Wednesday and we lost miserably but its ok because the next day I was super super sore so at least I am getting my behind into shape.

Troy unfortunately has yet to actually play in one of his games because last week he spent the week at "The Lab" which is Bartlett Tree Experts intensive training facilities in Charlotte, NC. It is a huge honor to be asked to go there and it usually is reserved for people who have worked there for 2-3 years and Troy has been working there for approximately 5 months. He was so excited about everything he learned there and really had a good time. I was was ecstatic for him to come home after being gone for a week but I just am thankful that he doesn't have to leave me often. He made some friends from all over the country that week and unfortunately caught a stomach bug that made two days miserable for him. He recovered though and didn't let it damper his overall trip. So he is very well liked at his job and is moving up the ladder quickly which we are so thankful for.

Apollo is growing like crazy and is still such a lover. He snuggles up to you if you sit still for any amount of time. He really makes us laugh daily and we are soooo happy he is part of our family. When Troy was gone he served well as the man of the house and did his job of protecting me. He proved himself within an hour of Troy leaving. Not long after Troy left for Charlotte, I was studying and the doorbell rings and Apollo barks and consequently it scared the crap out of me and I let a word slip kind of loudly. I was like dang it they know I am here so now I have to answer the door. Apollo meanwhile has not stopped barking, and I grab my phone and call Troy just in case anything happens he at least will know about it. I answer the door to see two sharply dressed boys from the Church of Latter Day Saints. I don't open my screen door just so Apollo won't bulldoze them down. Apollo is standing between my legs and barks the ENTIRE time these poor boys are telling me their message. For those of you who have not hear his bark, it is VERY intimidating sounding. I told the young men that I appreciated them stopping by but I have a relationship with Jesus and I know him well. I am happy with that relationship but I appreciate your efforts to spread the message to this neighborhood. I was like I am sorry about my dog he is just doing what he is supposed to and one of them was like "He is doing a great job!" I thought it was funny but it did make me feel better that even though he does this 95% of the time:
He apparently has the capability to be a little more aggressive when he feels the need. We love this puppy so much and are thoroughly enjoying his growing up.

We also have some exciting news that we will hopefully be able to share here soon once we nail down some more solid details. No we are not pregnant so don't even go there. We love you all and hope you are doing well!

Love,
The Kossicks
