Starbucks + Brusters=Date Night

As most of you know Troy had to go to New York City for work for 2 weeks. They had some pretty severe storms and flooding up there and the Bartlett offices up in the New England area were SWAMPED with jobs. They were pulling people all the way down in Tallahassee Florida up to NYC to help. I was dreading him being gone because my studies were not going to be that demanding for those two weeks. This means we could have spent time together. The positive in the situation was the potential to make some serious money. Which he did accomplish....he averaged 60-70 hours a week!! I missed him terribly but was sooo deliriously happy for him to come home. He arrived back the Friday before my Spring Break which was PERFECT. I had finished all my tests and practicals and was truly able to enjoy his company.

The Sunday evening after Troy came home we decided to go out for a special treat after supper. Troy loves Brusters ice cream...who doesn't?...but I am obviously a Starbucks girl through and through. So conveniently there is a Brusters and a Starbucks near each other not far from the house! So we decided to bring Apollo along with us so he could enjoy some time with us on a date. Little did we know this handsome pup would make out better in the treat department then both Troy and I!!

When we arrived at Bruster's the young lady helping us asked if we wanted a "Doggy scoop" and once we were informed it was free, Troy replied "Why not?!" It is a scoop of vanilla ice cream with three doggy biscuits sticking out of it. I think Apollo died and went to heaven because he started to devour the paper cup it came in he was so excited. It was so funny to watch him. He was very popular there as well. There was a family with about 6 kids that all ran up to him slapping, thumping, petting, kissing, etc. on him and it was so adorable to see him just sit there and bask in it.

After, we finished at Brusters we made our way over to Starbucks where the people that worked at Starbucks saw us coming and as soon as I walked in the door they told me how beautiful Apollo was and asked if we wanted treats for him. They gave us a cup full of doggy biscuits for him!! Here we are enjoying the Starbucks experience :)
We sat out on the patio there and enjoyed the sun set. It was such a simple activity but we loved it!
Here are my boys hamming it up for the camera!
I could not be happier to have this wonderful man home again. I felt like my life fell apart when he was gone. Literally everything that could go wrong did once he left. It is such a weird situation to have someone there all the time to share meals with, help with the chores, provide attention to Apollo (which is a big task for one person who is trying to study all the time), wake up next to in bed, set the alarm for me once I fall into bed exhausted, do the dishes for me, give me hugs when I get home from a test that didn't go as well as planned, do you get the picture? I know we are newlyweds but I absolutely am content living in this stage of the marriage for a long time.

Troy and I are both so blessed to have each other and our wonderful dog Apollo! We can't have children until I graduate (so I have one less reason to go insane while here) so Apollo, being a great dane, is probably the closest thing to having a child as we can get right now. He makes the cutest faces and you just can't help giving him a ton of hugs and kisses. Then in the next minute he goes and eats Winkers kitty poop, DISGUSTING we know, and you want to spank him! Despite his downfalls we love him so much and are so happy he is a part of our little family. Troy and I have some VERY exciting news that I am waiting until April 20th to announce!!! We do need your prayers concerning this matter so please please pray hard!!

Apollo says Adios!!

Love,
The Kossicks

  1. Definitely don't take all those things for granted! Which obviously you haven't! It is sooo hard havin to live apart and I pray for all of you girls that have your husbands up here to get to spend as much time with them in your "spare" time and even when you don't have spare time! And don't take a single second of it for granted! I wish I could spend time with Chad every single day! But in four years we will all know how much it is worth it! We can do this!
