The Newest Member of the Kossick Family

Troy and I have taken the next step in our marriage in the last two days. We have bought a dog! Not just any dog but the dog we have wanted for so long. A beautiful blue Great Dane boy!!! He is the most gorgeous wonderful dog I have ever seen. We were fortunate enough to find him on Craigslist and were able to buy him from a super nice family, Lauren specifically since that is who we actually met. You can check out her
blog here to see some pictures of Apollo as a younger puppy. She was really sweet and helped us out a ton by giving us a big bag of food and a humongous crate. When Troy and I first saw him at the dog park we fell immediately in love with him. How could you not fall in love with this boy?

Since we have gotten him home it has truly been an adventure. He had a very busy day on Wednesday when we brought him home. We met Lauren at the dog park and he played a little with Jake, my cousin Allyssa's puppy. Then we took him to the office in order to meet his grandparents. He didn't like going into the office very much probably because it reminded him of the vets. Mom and dad thought he was gorgeous and really seemed to like him. After that we came back to the house where he played with Alley for a good little bit. I don't think he has really played with many dogs before. Alley on the other hand is used to playing and wrestling with Jake so she was trying to get him to play. He just kept trying to get away from her! We then had to drive home to Augusta, a 2 and a 1/2 hour drive.
Another special feature about our handsome little fella is that he is terrified of stairs. So when we got home at 11:30 Troy tried to get him to go up the stairs but it was a no go. Imagine if you will, running with this puppy to try and get his momentum up the stairs so he doesn't have time to think about it. Then all of a sudden he slams on his breaks by immediately lying down. It is painful for him and for us. Finally, Troy picks him up brings him inside and puts him in his crate. He immediately slumps down and is out cold until I roll out of bed in the morning.

Since then we have travelled leaps and bounds with him! He is such a fast learner and is such a cuddler. We love him and are soooo excited to have him! Today we took some pictures of us playing in the backyard. Be prepared, there are a lot :)

He is almost 7 months old and already is 60 lbs! He is going to be a big boy!

Look at those long legs!

Look at how tall he is already!

Play Time!!

He is giving Troy a high five...well I guess technically it is a low five...
