To My Dear Friend

So I have some very exciting news that concerns one of my best friends!

At our wedding! She was one of my bridesmaids and looked beautiful!

Kirby, who came and visited last weekend that I blogged about, was proposed to last Saturday August 8!!! I am soo freaking excited for her. She and her fiance, Jeff, have been together for a long time and I know they are ready for that next step.

Let me tell you about my dear Kirby girl...She is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. She is always there to talk to and get a hug from. I love spending time with her because when I spend time with her, it flies on by and we don't really do anything super exciting. Just talking is an enjoyable experience with her. Jeff entered her life a few years back and he has been such a great guy for her. He knows how to take care of her and pamper her and if you know Kirby, you know she needs some pampering :) They are both so blessed to have each other and it makes me so ridiculous warm and fuzzy feeling to know they are getting married!!

So, Kirby is in her final year of the dietetic program at Andrews and is starting her internship this Monday. She wanted to be more prepared for her internship so she came down to Georgia and lived down here for a few weeks to work with Gwen, Troy's mom, who is a dietitian in Rome. She was driving home on Saturday so Troy and I went to Calhoun to say goodbye before she left. As she is pulling out of the driveway Saturday morning, Gwen and I are waving and she turns to me and says I think Jeff is proposing tonight! I was like WHAT?!

Well I guess Jeff was calling Kirby and trying to find out how close she was and when she would be home. She assumed it was because he missed her! He more then missed her...he had special plans ;) He had candles set up all over her apartment in Ohio and rose petals sprinkled that led back to her room where he had candles laid out in a heart with a picture of them in the center! So when he found out she was close to home he lit them all and waited for her to come in the door. When she did she saw the display and was very excited to see it all but again just thought he had done something special for her because he had missed her. He gave her a hug and brought her back to her room and started to get down on one knee. Kirby started to kneel down with him lol. He insisted she was supposed to stay standing! She was kind of confused but what he said next removed all doubt. She said she passed out! Which I don't think it was the keeling over black out passing out. Her body went weak and she was really light headed! I think this was definitely a successful surprise!

So there you have it! These two love birds are on the road to being happily married and Troy and I are really excited for them. We love married life and know they will too! We love you guys!!
